About Lyfta
/ˈlɪfta/ — from Old Norse, to lift something upwards. That is the job we took on for strength training. Lyfta is a small, independent team building the tools we always wanted for our own training: rigorous, fast, and honest about what works.
Lyfta is a gym workout tracker and coaching platform. Lifters log workouts, follow programs, and track progress on iOS, Android, and the web. Coaches manage clients and programs in the web app.
The consumer apps on iPhone and Android are built for the gym floor — chalked hands, a short rest, and the next set. The web companion at https://my.lyfta.app is where lifters review progress on a larger screen and where coaches run their business: clients, programs, and payments.
What we believe
Science before opinion. Recommendations inside Lyfta are grounded in training research, not fitness trends. Our founder holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology and has spent years coaching at the elite level.
Built for the gym floor. Most people open the app mid-set. We design and test for that reality first. Made to compound: Lyfta is built to be used for years, which shapes how we write programs, how we write the code, and how we treat the people who trust us with their training.
The company
Lyfta is built by Lindberg Development AS, a Norwegian private limited company (org. nr. 827 095 222). The company was started by two brothers: Kolbjørn Lindberg, founder, with a PhD in Exercise Physiology; and Kjell Roar Lindberg, co-founder and CTO, with a background in computer science, cyber security, and personal training.
